Britain's Next Top Model Live!

Last week I was given the opportunity to work backstage at the Britain's Next Top Model Live event at London ExCel and of course I took up that offer! Two days of rehearsals, three show days and lots and lots of hard work resulted in an amazing jam packed week. The rehearsals consisted of dressing the models and making sure their clothes fit, assisting in making the dancers outfits, helping to organize the show in general and many dress rehearsals! There were 4 or 5 shows a day and in total I will have done over 80 dress changes!! Every minute was worth it though and I had a lovely model to work with. For those of you who watched the show will know who I am talking about, I dressed Alisha, and for those of you who don't know, Alisha came 2nd in the show but is doing rather well for herself. Not only did I get to dress the models and assist with organizing the show, I also got to go out the front and look at all the amazing stalls and also to my surprise, watch performances by Diana Vickers, Alisha Dixon and Eliza Doolittle. I know, I know you are all jealous, but what can I say? I'm a lucky girl, hehe. Here are just some of the photographs that documented this incredible event...

Tiffany's beautiful finale dress made out of small square mirrors, she was the human disco ball!

We had the after party on the Sunday after the final show at Whisky Mist in Mayfair, very swanky! Lots of free bottles of Tia Maria and Grey Goose vodka...eek!

The most amazing experience ever!

Turning the World Upside Down.

Another lovely sunny day with the boyfriend....hmmm...what to do...? Look on TimeOut London! That's where we found out that Anish Kapoor, the Indian Sculptor, had an exhibition showing in Kensington Gardens, of all places. The exhibition was called, 'Turning the World Upside Down'. And it did exactly what it said on the tin, turned the world upside down with large mirrors of all different shapes and sizes. Unfortunately...because we live in England the sunny weather didn't hold up and we ended up getting soaking wet but oh well...every cloud and all that...here are some pictures from the exhibition with and without the lovely rainfall...

Who? Me?

I have a little something to show you guys of my work so far this year...we were given a rather difficult task of having to create a photographic self portrait of ourselves...I know, vain or what?? We had to take the photo ourselves, you know, self timer, tri-pod or the classical myspace photo, now come on, we all know what one of the those are, even if you never put them on your myspace page, you can't deny taking one at some point in your teenage years. Anyway, the photo had to reflect ourselves in some way so I decided to go down my old life ambition road, music and theatre. I am also really inspired by black and white photography and old photographers such as Helmut Newton, Cecil Beaton and Richard Avedon (If you haven't heard of any of them, look them up!) It is quite a simple image and is supposed to look as if it was 'caught in the moment' but as always, you guys can make up your own mind...

One Wonderful Year.

So yesterday was Mine and Anthony's 1 year anniversary, yummy food, lots of candles, it was lovely. A year has gone by so quickly and yet, in a way it feels like so much more and really cannot wait for the next 10, 20, 30 years ahead.

Afghan Aid.

Well, last night was the Afghan Aid charity event...it was definitely an experience. Ok...so it was an amazing experience! All of the models were beautiful and so lovely, the venue was stunning, the adrenalin was pumping, the atmosphere was thrilling, the whole night was incredible, I don't think that words can actually describe the evening so here are some photographs documenting the event...

The Line up.

The touch-ups.

The model's shoes! From Paris! Mmmmm....

Look 1 that we styled! This look is on the model that I was dressing. I love the simplicity of this outfit.

Look 2! Loved this look! Unfortunately I didnt get a photo of our 3rd look, which was one of my favourites, I will have to try and hunt one down!

When we thought the event was over and all of our team were leaving...a few of us decided to stick behind and sip the free cocktails and glasses of wine and nibble on the free canapes! Ohhhh luxury, especially when everyone else in the room had paid £75 for the evening and we were getting all these lovely things for free! Delightful!

Until the next exciting event guys, ciao x
